Stables - Facilities

Pasture turn-out ranging in size from 2 to 5 acres.  All pastures are in coastal and native grasses which are fertilized twice a year.  Strict manure management practices are instilled year round.

Paddocks are 50x100 or larger and are seasonally in coastal grasses.  Paddocks tend to be "dry lots" for managed feeding programs or horses in need of turn out with restrictive exercise programs.

Stalls are a generous 12x16 each, 10 total, with open door slats, windows, rubber mats and automatic water system.  Two stud stalls are available.

Bedding can be tailored for respiratory compromised horses by using shredded cardboard instead of pine shavings.

Ceiling fans are in each stall and throughout the entire barn to increase air circulation and improve quality.

Misting Insecticide System to decrease cross-contamination via flies and mosquitoes throughout the barn.

Medical Treatment Area with cross ties, removable stocks and surgical scrub sink.  This area is restricted to medical procedures.

Wash Dock is a horse-friendly lay out with see through wire mesh on 2 sides, ties on each corner and in center plus cross ties, quick drainage off concrete floor and we will be adding rubber mats for secure footing.

Center isle of barn is made of a shock absorbent dirt and pea gravel type material.  In the very near future, we will be changing to rubber mats for the entire length of the isle with cross ties for saddling/grooming in the center of the barn.   Sliding doors are at either end to increase or decrease breeze which funnels through barn.   We have different styles of lighting which you can use: bright lights for the entire barn isle, lights outside for loading and unloading or washing, and individual stall lights for working on one horse at a time.

Round Pen is 50 feet in diameter and is soon to be covered!  Round pen has water and lights, safe pipe railing with stout wood retaining walls on lower 1/4 of pen.

Hot Walker can exercise up to 6 horses at once.   Walker goes both directions and speed can be changed from slow walk to normal walk to jog.
